Have spent the summer reading Ian McEwan novels and absolutely adored "Enduring Love'. I love the way he writes and the sinister air he manages to create despite the seemly 'everyday/normal' narration of the story. I haven't yet read 'Amsterdam' but it is on my 'to buy' list.
I am reading 'The War of Don Emmanuel's Nether Parts' by Louis de Bernieres at the moment and if you need a really good laugh then buy it! I've ordered a copy on Amazon today and sent it to my daughter to cheer her up!
