Rebel Land

by Christopher de Bellaigue

This looks at the history behind the ongoing strife amongst the Turkic and Caucasian tribes, the focus is mainly on the Anatolia region of present-day Turkey, which was once considered part of Armenia. It is complex but frank, and very interesting. To quote the Times reviewer "A brilliant literary thriller, an incursion into forbidden territory that is all the more gripping for being true."

I am taking my time with this one, trying to absorb the complex twists and turns, and I know I will fail miserably, but it is certainly providing plenty of meat to chew over.
